Is the Met negotiating with its union employees?

In an effort to move our negotiations forward and to provide assistance and support during this very difficult time, the Met has more recently offered our full-time musicians (Local 802) and AGMA members (chorus, ballet, supers, stage managers and staff directors) pay of up to $1,500 per week for an eight-week period of good-faith bargaining. Our chorus entered into an eight-week negotiation period that began on February 8, and our orchestra entered into an eight-week period of negotiations starting on March 17. During these periods of negotiation, the chorus and orchestra will receive weekly payments of approximately $1,500.  Our goal is to reach agreements that will provide our furloughed full-time union employees with continuing financial assistance until the health crisis is over.
